JNEC Launched IGBC student’s chapter at Aryabhatta Hall on 1 September 2018
In the purview of Green Building Movement, on 1st of September 2018 JNEC Launched IGBC student’s chapter at Aryabhatta Hall, in the presence of Respectable Prof. Pratap Borhade, Dr. Vijaya Musande, Vice Principal and Guest speaker Ar. Anagha Paranjape Purohit. Prof Jayashree Gogte Head, Architecture, Prof. Prof.Dr. S.B.Shinde Head, Prof. M Sadik HOD 2nd shift Civil Engineering..
Program was anchored by a Student Shakir Sakina TY Architecture, in which Prof. Swapnil Kendre and Prof. Medha Deshmukh was declared as convener and co_ convener. Prof. Ruchi Patil and Prof. Sheetal Bagade declared as a faculty coordinators.
Prof. Medha Deshmukh (Co_ Convener) explained about the IGBC and Aurangabad student chapter and Prof Swapnil Kendre (Convener) gave the overview of JNEC IGBC student Chapter.
Guest speaker Ar. Anagha explained about what are Green building and related practices in the field of Green Technologies. She also talked about Traditional building designs were greener compared to today’s building designs, There is major shift in building design pattern because of which our society is facing different problems like shortage of electricity, global warming, greenhouse gas emissions etc.
Mr. Animesh Mahopatra Executive officer of IGBC for western region, and Somya Choukasi IGBC offered the certificate of registration to the dignitaries of JNEC. The session was concluded by Mr. Animesh with an acknowledgement to JNEC management for supporting the green building movement.
As a responsible and very old institute MGM’S Jawaharlal Nehru College of Engineering identified the problem of region. JNEC as a family desires to contribute to Green Building a movement which helps to reduce the impact on environment.
The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) was formed in the year 2001. Under the This JNEC students IGBC chapter offers a wide array of programs which include developing awareness about green buildings, and green building training programs for students and professionals, National level Competitions for green building design, also many local issues can be addressed, Social activities, Expert lectures / seminars, Research, publications, library, Plan tours & Field visits under the annual flagship of IGBC.
