Aurangabad, February 12: Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College (JNEC), of Mahatma Gandhi Mission University, Aurangabad, has signed a memorandum of understanding with National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) for skill development training in emerging technologies through FutureSkills PRIME portal. The initiative is aimed at establishing JNEC as a model training hub in skilling, upskilling, re-skilling and deep skilling of the students, faculty members, employees working in industrial and government sectors. FutureSkills PRIME portal is unique industry driven platform developed by NASSCOM to facilitate continuous learning in order to reduce mismatch between skill availability and demand.
“With 37% of existing jobs demanding re-skilling of existing manpower and 87% of companies automating their work, skill development initiative will be playing vital role in nation prosperity. With identification of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, data science, blockchain, cyber security, internet of things, and 3D printing, NASSCOM developed self paced micro learning content for the students to develop digitally fluent talent stack.” said Dr. Sandhya Chintala, Vice President, NASSCOM expressing her delight on the collaboration.
Realizing the demand for market driven skills, NASSCOM developed online FutureSkill Prime portal. This portal will impart industry specific skill training to students with the support of various leading corporate, she said.

Virtual MOU signing ceremony was also attended by Ms. Sridevi Sira, National lead- NASSCOM, Mr. Sachin Mhaske, Regional lead of western region NASSCOM, all head of the departments, deans and department coordinators of industry interaction cell of JNEC.
