Mahatma Gandhi Mission’s Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College has won 2nd prize under category 6- “How innovatively institute is conducting classes for students” in Utkrisht Sansthan Vishwakarma Award (USVA), AICTE under the theme “INDIA FIGHTS CORONA”. The Award Ceremony (online) was held on 17th September 2020. Honorable Minister of Education Sh. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Honorable Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr. Harsh Vardhan graced the occasion.
The Utkrisht Sansthan Vishwakarma Award was organized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in 2019, which aims to motivate, recognize and honor the AICTE approved institutions to raise their performance in the specific domain leading to significant contribution for the growth and development of the society. This year, India is facing an extraordinary challenge to protect citizens from the rapidly spreading COVID-19 pandemic all around the globe. The government is in pursuit of garnering maximum efforts against this pandemic, which demands the contribution of all to act against the spread of COVID-19 across India. The technical education community in the country is well-capable of serving the community by utilizing its vast knowledge and ample resources. AICTEl received 900 applications out of which 535 institutions who submitted the complete data were taken. Based on the parameters decided by the competent authority, all applicants were scrutinized and evaluated by the team of experts. Finally, a committee of Jury members evaluated the 103 applications and announced 35 institutions, who were declared for the award in 14 different categories.
