Vision

Applied Science department is committed to provide the best learning and creative experience of basic sciences i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, which is the background of engineering studies.

Mission

To provide sound background of basic concepts, principles of physics, chemistry and Mathematics to engineering students which develops firm base for further studies in engineering field.

Meet the HOD

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to MGM family and JNEC where your dreams will certainly come true. The Applied Science department was founded in 1983 and serve to cater the basic needs of engineering students at an early stage. The department is committed to provide a sound background of basic science subjects like Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry which is the backbone of all engineering programs. The department aims to develop the curiosity to understand and apply basic science knowledge in the engineering programs. The department has highly qualified and experienced faculty members with specializations in various sub-disciplines of Basic Sciences like Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The department has well equipped laboratories where students have hands on experience with the state-of-the-art facilities. The department is dedicated not only for the excellence in academics but also encourages students for project based and problem-based learning thereby inculcating the practical skills in students. To nurture the co-curricular skills of students, a 21-day induction program is arranged every year by the department before the regular classes commence. The main purpose of this induction program is to introduce students to the facilities available in the college for not only curricular but also for extra curricular activities thereby building their personality. I, on behalf of Applied Science Department once again extend a warm welcome to you in MGM University and Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College and wish you All the Best.
